About our Founder
Tehmina Khan’s career in Design began almost 50 years ago as a haute couture designer. As her line was sold across the United States and Asia, her garments were carried in stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Woodward & Lothrop, and Garfinckel’s. However, her focus later shifted from runways to hallways, leading to her founding of McLean Furniture Gallery in 1984 where her work has been a showcase of interior design since 1984.
Under her leadership and vision, McLean Furniture Gallery has become a premier design center in the Washington, D.C. area. Her clients include heads of state, corporate executives, government officials, and public figures. In recognition for her contributions to the furniture industry, Henredon and Harden, two iconic American furniture manufacturers with a combined history of almost 250 years, created and named furniture after her. When not collaborating with clients on their design needs, Tehmina enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren.
