About our Founder
Tehmina Khan’s career in Design began almost 50 years ago as a haute couture designer. Her line was sold across the United States and Asia with her garments being carried in stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Woodward & Lothrop, and Garfinckel’s. Her focus later shifted from runways to interiors, leading to her founding of McLean Furniture Gallery in 1984 where her work has been a showcase of interior design since 1984.
Under her vision and leadership, McLean Furniture Gallery has become a premier design center in the Washington, D.C. area. Clients include heads of state, corporate executives, government officials, and public figures. In recognition for her contributions to the furniture industry, Henredon and Harden, two iconic American furniture manufacturers with a combined history of almost 250 years, created and named furniture after her.
