Harden Introduces the “Tehmina” Sofa

HARDEN – a story as beautiful as it is unique. Founded in the 1840’s, this family-owned furniture manufacturer just shipped a custom-made new conference table to the Roosevelt Room in the White House. The chairs that decorate the Visitor’s Center at the US Capitol are also made by Harden. Harden takes pride in producing American-made home and office furniture from trees harvested in 20,000 acres of forests owned by the furniture maker. A fifth-generation family legacy, this company is truly a visionary of sustainable forestry before terms such as “sustainable” became the language de jour. McLean Furniture Gallery has proudly sold Harden products to our clients for 20 years.

We now have another reason that brings Greg Harden and his company close to our hearts. Harden will introduce the “Tehmina” sofa, named in honor of MFG’s founder and owner, Tehmina Khan. The sofa, a salute to Tehmina, embodies a graceful, solid wood frame, which the customer can drape with over 4-5 custom fabrics. “When I started my business in 1984, I never imagined that a 162 year old American company would honor me this way,” said Tehmina. “The Tehmina Sofa is the crown jewel of my furniture collection.”

The Tehmina sofa is a culmination of sheer modern day elegance with a grandeur that is no longer captured by most sofas of this style. The Sofa has a solid wood, hand-carved and custom hand finished frame that can give your room a variety of looks – especially with the many possible ways the fabric can be arranged and applied.

The Tehmina Sofa shall be unveiled at the 2012 Spring Market at High Point, NC. This piece is available for purchase after its introduction at our location, and Harden dealers nation-wide across the United States.
