The Story of the Founders
Tehmina and Imran established the McLean Furniture Gallery in 1984. There is a personal connection with the owners, who gaze proudly from the walls, framed in moments from their time in Pakistan, and here in the US. The "Who We Are" wall, as it is known, greets the customer and shows them snapshots of the owners from their origins to their present. Tehmina's media clippings from her fashion design days are framed, intricately woven into a collage of pictures that include those with US Presidents and prominent citizens of the US. The Gallery's design is exquisite and stands on par, if not above, the leading furniture showrooms in the DC area. There is a huge design center where customers can consult with the Gallery's designers or spend the day with their own designers, planning their purchases and how they will fit into their homes. There is a cappuccino bar in the design center which offers premium coffee, water, and soft drinks for the customers.
Designed by Leo A. Daly architects, the Gallery is architectured to provide an end to end view of the furniture collections, while providing a comfortable, luxurious setting for customers to consult with their own or the Gallery's design consultants. The investment in this worldclass showroom truly reflects the owners' commitment to their business and meeting the needs of their customers in the best possible environment. Since the inauguration of this new showroom two years ago, the Gallery continues to serve a broad range of clients, including home owners, diplomatic missions, government agencies, and local businesses. The Gallery offers a full price range from affordable, casual pieces to exquisite handcrafted pieces that carry a fairly high price tag. There is something for everyone, as long as you have good taste. The quality rivals leading furniture retailers, and true to the American tradition, there are ample promotions and special buys to attract those who are looking for a steal deal on high quality furniture. Take a trip down to the Gallery if you live in or are visiting the DC area to experience it for yourself!
